News Release: Ottawa Community Housing Cuts the Ribbon on $72K Capital Investment in Seniors Community at 31 McEwen

Sept. 18, 2023 – Ottawa, ON – Beautification projects create more welcoming communities for tenants and guests. That is why OCH invested $72,00 in a major renovation of the common areas and vestibule at 31 McEwen Ave. The building is home to nearly 200 seniors.
The result was a real transformation and will be enjoyed by the buildings’ residents for years to come.
The renovation work at McEwen Terrace was part of the Welcome Home and Interior Finishes Accessibility Program. In 2023, the Corporation funded projects in 14 communities – for a total commitment of $1.9 million.
Scope of work
- All floor and wall tiles in the ground floor and common areas were replaced with new ceramic tiles.
- Ceiling tiles in the lobby and ground floor corridors were replaced.
- New pot lights were installed in the main lobby and front vestibule.
- LED lights were replaced in the mailroom and main floor corridors
- The makeover also included new paint on all the walls, ceilings, doors and door frames in the main lobby, ground floor corridors, vestibule, mailroom, washrooms, lounge and games room.
